Overview

The Anti-Ragging committee in colleges ensures the safety and well-being of students by prohibiting any form of ragging or harassment. Comprising faculty members, staff and student representatives, it actively monitors campus activities to prevent instances of bullying or hazing. The committee conducts awareness programs to educate students about the detrimental effects of ragging and encourages a culture of respect and inclusivity. It provides confidential channels for reporting incidents and swiftly addresses complaints through disciplinary actions. By promoting a zero- tolerance policy, the anti-ragging committee contributes to creating a positive and conducive learning environment where every student feels valued and protected.

Mechanisms at
the Institution Level

  • A vigilant Anti-Ragging committee actively monitors and adopts timely measures to prevent incidents of ragging in the campus.
  • Installation of CCTV cameras at vital points.
  • Regular conduct of anti-ragging workshops and seminars.
  • Regular interaction and counseling with the students.
  • Installation of complaint/ suggestion boxes.
  • Periodic supervision and monitoring by hostel warden and staff to check ragging in the hostel premises.

Dealing with
Incidents of Ragging

Any student who has been subjected to, or wishes to express their concerns regarding ragging can filed a complaint to the anti-ragging committee. The studesnts can also report to their respective heads of the department/ faculty mentor or drop their complaints in the complaint box. The Anti-Ragging committee will investigate the matter thoroughly and take corrective actions immediately.

As a result of this no single complaint regarding is received by the committee. However, awareness campaign about ragging is the regular practice in the campus.
